Bodega Bay

Last weekend, I spent 3 fabulous days with 14 other scrapbookers. Yes, 15 women total, 2.5 bathrooms, 5 beds, 3 couches and several airobeds. We had enough scrapbook supplies to make any scrapbook store owner drool. If you needed, someone had it. The weather was cold and wet the first two days, then cleared up and was absolutely gorgeous. The food of course was in abundance. If you were hungry, it was your own fault. Jenny and Debbie made us feel like we were at Starbucks, whipping us up vanilla lattes and mochas with their fancy machines. Our hostess Heather made our retreat fun and relaxing. I can't wait to go again. I'm not sure if I can wait a whole year though (hint...hint).

Rain and 60 kids ...

Yesterday, I took my class along with the other two 3rd grade classes to the Tolay Regional Park. They were having a fa;; festival. It was great except for the fact that it was raining. The entire event is outdoors, under canopy tents. They had different stations that the kids could rotate through- carding and spinning wool, planting a seed, painting a pumpkin, and making a candle. Unfortunately we all couldn't fit under these tents. We were troopers, we even went on the hay ride, making raincoats out of plastic garbage bags. The adults were smart, though, we placed the plastic bags under us, so not to get our rear-ends wet. In the end, we decided to call it a day, trudge back through the mud puddles to our bus and head back to school early. We were soaked all the way through by then and were anxious to get back to the classrooms where we could turn the heater to 85 and thaw out and dry off.

S.O.S.

S.O.S. Scrap Our Self...This is the class I took tonight at our local LSS The Scrappery. I had a wonderful time with new and old friends. The best part is that I will finally be making a scrapbook all about me. Tonight I was forced once again to work outside of my comfort zone. I used my brand new Technique Tuesday stamps (Big Timber) and Sta-zon. Tonight we decorated the covers of our books. Everybody's was different, uniquely theirs. I can tell that there are some very talented scrappers in the group.

Dude- I got a Dell

After wanting one for the past few years, I bit the bullet and bought one. I am loving it so much. This makes computer number 4, for our house. As I type, I'm kicked back in my comfy chair, blogging and watching TV.

As my kids are getting older I'm finding that they both need the computer at the same time. So one kid can be on the kids computer, one at my desktop and me on the laptop. Now everyone in our house can be on a computer at the same time. I can see it now. No more talking to each other, just IMing. So, how many computers does your house have?

Frugal Shopping

I am a frugal shopper and proud of it. I rarely buy anything unless it is on-sale. I will look on-line for the best deals, free shipping, whatever gets me more bang for my buck. Last week I came across a business card for www.frugalities.com IT is a website that has everything imaginable. I was hooked from the first time I visited. Each day the percentage off changes. One day it was 41%, the next day 47% and so forth. I waited till it was 47% again, and bought. Little did I know that the following day it would be 49%. The shipping charges were pricey, but I new I was still getting a great deal. I had looked on-line at the same item and at Michael's. Even Michael's 40% off coupon couldn't beet these prices. My order hasn't come yet, but lets just say I will soon have some new acrylic stamps and Sta-zon ink pads

How to Write a Check

Perhaps this should be a question. Today It took 6 tries before I wrote the check correctly. Twice I put the dollar amount in the Pay to the order space. I signed my name where the amount should be. I wrote the wrong date and when I thought I had finally had it correct-I wrote the wrong last name. Finally on the 6th attempt I got it, but the numbers had smeared.
I never write checks. I'll write a few at the beginning of the school year, then about 4 per month. It is just easier to swipe the debit card or pay bills on-line. Now I need to order checks. Six in one day, at this rate I'll need checks sooner then I thought.

Organizing

How often do you organize your scrap supplies? I feel like I'm always looking for the next best organizational item, one that will help me keep all my supplies neatly organized and right at my fingertips. I'm not sure if it really does exist. So far, I'm on my 3rd paper organizing idea. I originally had a file tote that held my paper, but then I had too much paper. Is there really such a thing as too much paper? Next I bought the wire cubes and made them into shelves. These however made it hard to see all my paper, plus they weren't very attractive. I finally bought the Cropper Hopper vertical paper organizers. I really like them. I like them so much that I know have 9, but need about 3 more. My only problem is that I really don't have room for 3 more. This however hasn't stopped me from buying paper.
So, just wondering where I fall in terms of paper to other scrappers. Do I have a lot more paper than you do, not as much, or about the same.
